The City of Hamilton’s youth team is hosting its first annual HamOntYouth Summit presented by RBC on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
It will be hosted at Mohawk College- ArcelorMittal Dofasco Theatre (135 Fennell Ave W, Hamilton, ON L9C 0E5).

 

Model City Hall has worked to make municipal politics accessible to youth and promote civic engagement in Toronto and Hamilton since 2015. As part of the HamOntYouth Summit, Model City Hall is excited to host 3 round table discussions, on the following topics, for all youth to take part in.

 

• Barriers and Challenges to Accessing Employment and Training

• Barriers and Challenges to Accessing Mental Health and Addiction Supports

• Re-imagining the Hamilton Transit Network and Fare Policy

 

Following the Round Table discussions, youth will participate in crafting a resolution on one of the three topics and prepare for a presentation back to the Summit as a whole. The outcomes of these discussions will be shared with city staff to ensure youth voice is captured and used to inform current City of Hamilton projects.
