MCH Online 2020

On August 8th, 2020 from 10:15 am to 6:15 pm, we hosted our first-ever MCH Online Conference to improve political and civic engagement and bring youth together amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over 60 high school and post-secondary students from the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area joined us for a spirited, energizing, and dynamic dialogue with Dr. Eileen De Villa, Chief Medical Officer for Toronto Public Health, MP Matthew Green, Kojo Damptey, the Executive Director of the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion, MIT Tech Review Senior Reporter Karen Hao, and Kris Joseph, a Digital Scholarship Librarian at York University.

Engaged 70+ youth from across the GTHA through our 1st conference in August, 2020

In recent months, Model City Hall Online launched a partnership with Linkedkey, an innovative education program based in Mississauga. We also connected with the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion and MP Matthew Green to facilitate this conference.

In light of the COVID-19 environment, all Model City Hall conferences for the foreseeable future will be held remotely. We have big plans for Model City Hall’s Online division, including a prospective conference in April, 2021!
